Jerusalem. Thanks to UNIFIL, Hezbollah is able to lunch more than 2,000 missiles a day against Israel

The risk of a devastating new conflict and humanitarian emercency sleeps, but it is real in Lebanon.  Many observers are convinced that it is not a question of whether there will be one, but when and why it will begin. This is the result of UNIFIL’s failure and its increasingly evident  conversion from an initial interposition force to an ally of Lebanon.
The UNIFIL/LAF “joint” exercises are not intended to implement the LAF’s ability to dismantle Hezbollah’s arsenal, but, by UNIFIL’s own admission, to implement its border defense capability (sic).
UNIFIL, the lame duck, is present with more than ten thousand men, but it is relegated, or rather it has relegated itself, to act as a support actor together with the LAF (Lebanese Army) in a territory governed politically, economically and militarily by a terrorist group that should have been disarmed under its supervision and that instead has become a military power with more than thirty thousand militiamen equipped with heavy weapons, self-propelled missile launchers, assault equipment and more than 170 thousand rockets and missiles.
The attention of Israel is maximum and with intelligence operations constantly monitors the situation.
According to Israeli military experts, Hezbollah terrorists have reached full operational capability of launching from 2000 to 4000 rockets per day. Israel has been mobilizing for some time and has developed operational defense and attack plans to neutralize the threat.
The responsibility for a war will lie entirely with the international community that shamefully leaves thousands of soldiers to vegetate under Hezbollah’s control.
In one of our articles of December 27, 2017, we wrote that “It made an impression on July 3, to hear the commander of the UNIFIL force, during the event of the 40th anniversary of ITALAIR, thank as the first authority present the religious one instead of the political one. This precedence given to religious authority clashes with the ceremonial but perhaps says a lot about UNIFIL’s subordinate status to Hezbollah.”
Lebanon is a land on which too many nations are playing a dirty economic and power war heedless of the lives of its citizens and UNIFIL is the screen to their shady dealings.
It’s time to realize that maintaining the status quo on these terms is shameful and dangerous for the region.
